Duties and Responsibilitiess |
The Livestock Waste Management in East Asia’ project is funded by the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) through World Bank. The five year project is designed to assist China, Thailand and Vietnam, countries in which waste generated by rapidly expanding livestock sectors is causing significant environmental and public health problems. The assistance includes waste management technology demonstrations, policy and regulatory development, monitoring of the outcomes and regional synergies and mutual learning. FAO is also a grant recipient under this project, with particular responsibility for providing regional support services, including decision support tool development and regional coordination and dissemination.

| Requirements | The consultant must have an advanced degree in environmental sciences, 5 years of relevant experience in manure management technology and/or fertilization plans – nutrient fluxes modelling. |
