Dear colleagues and ECTAD members,

Please click here to download the weekly situation update for HPAI including summaries of suspected, confirmed and denied HPAI outbreaks/cases in affected countries. Since the last update, the following new items have been included:

 

AFRICAN REGION

Egypt

  • Confirmed H5 HPAI outbreaks in poultry (Dakahlia, Fayoum, Gharbia, Menofia, Sharkia)
  • Confirmed H5N1 infection in humans (Ismailia, Behira, Dakahlia)

ASIAN REGION

Bangladesh

  • Confirmed H5N1 infection in humans (Dhaka)
  • Confirmed H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in poultry (Barisal, Chittagong, Dhaka, Khulna, Rajshahi)

Indonesia

  • Participatory Disease Surveillance and Response (PDSR) results for January 2011
  • Confirmed H5N1 infection in humans (West Java)
  • Suspected HPAI outbreak in poultry (West Sumatra) and suspected H5N1 infection in a human (North Sumatra)

Japan

  • Confirmed H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in poultry, Chiba City
  • Additional information on confirmed H5N1 infection in wild birds (Aomori, Shimane)
  • Additional information on confirmed H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in poultry (Mie, Nara and Miyazaki)
